NEW MUNICIPAL Commissioner Ram Bodh Maurya, a PCS officer of the 1976 batch, says his first priority is to make the city “green and develop the Gomti Banks as desired by the Chief Minister and Urban Development Minister”. He says, “My priority would be to plant as many trees on both sides of the Gomti Banks. During my tenure as the Ghaziabad Municipal Commissioner, 20 lakh trees were planted there. It changed the whole scene. My focus would be on cleaning, better sanitation, roads and streetlights,” said Maurya.

“I will inspect the safai and construction work daily from morning 8 am to 10 am. Substandard work would not be tolerated,” he said. As regards the contractor-mafia-Corporation staff nexus, he said, “I am going to follow the directives of Urban Development Minister on the issue of quality. No compromises on that.”
