A double bench of Chief Justice A K Patnaik and Justice S K Sinho heard the petition and ruled that the 15 per cent management quota of the petitioner institutes would remain as it is. The colleges were allowed to fill up these quotas themselves.

The Chairman of the VNS Group Sanjay Pandey has said that the state government should implement the decision of the Supreme Court strictly and provide autonomy to the private technical institutes regarding fees structure also. He said that the jurisdiction of the Judge’s Committee is monitoring the process and not changing the rules.
