MCG slaps fine on builders

The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) on Thursday placed 59 high-rise buildings on its errant list for violating fire safety norms laid down in the Haryana Municipal Corporation Act-1994 and Fire Safety Norms-2009.

The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) on Thursday placed 59 high-rise buildings on its errant list for violating fire safety norms laid down in the Haryana Municipal Corporation Act-1994 and Fire Safety Norms-2009.

For punitive action against the errant building owners, the MCG had moved the local court, which slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 each on eight owners — Bhawani Group Housing Society in Sector 54, Krishna Group Housing Society in Sector 54, East-west Group Housing Society in Sector 54, Cedar Estate in Sector 54, Aces Group Housing Society in Sector 43, Karm-hi-Dharm Cooperative Group Housing Society in Sector 55, Shivalaya Group Housing Society in Sector 56 and Maple Heights in Sector 43.
