"It is now the mentality of most people to send back these artistes," Patil said on the sidelines of a function.

The minister was responding to a query over the recent attack on the sets of a TV programme by MNS activists who have luanched a campaign against Pakistani artistes, saying they should be barred from performing in India as the 26/11 terrorists were of Pakistani origin.

Asked if the government was contemplating any action against the MNS activists, Patil said "let us see. We will examine the issue before taking any action".

On Wednesday night, MNS activists had stormed the set of a TV programme where comedian Shakeel Siddqui, who hails from Pakistan, was shooting and damaged the set.
