MP high court seeks details on aid to rape victims

MP high court has sought details from the state government on the availability of any policy to assist rape victims on various issues including providing instant legal assistance while filing report at the police station.

MP high court has sought details from the state government on the availability of any policy to assist rape victims on various issues including providing instant legal assistance while filing report at the police station.

Senior advocate Anil Khare and advocate Namrata Kesharwani appeared as amicus curiae counsels. They told the court that it is generally seen in Madhya Pradesh that the rape victims are not provided legal assistance on reaching the police station and they are not aware about their rights in such cases as per directives of the apex court.
