Fortunately, the proctor and a hostel provost were passing by the incident site. They raised an alarm and the matter could not go beyond slaps.
Though the boys managed to escape, later it was established that they were from the TG hostel.
“This was the first incident on the campus this session. Luckily, things did not go out of our hand,” said proctor Dr VK Singh adding a strict vigil would now on be kept on seniors.
Only two days back, the KGMU vice chancellor had held a meeting with the hostel provosts to discuss the issue of ragging inside hostels and during classes.
