Mumbai police arrest two SIMI activists

The accused arrested on late Sunday night, were allegedly involved in SIMI activities.

The Mumbai Police Crime Branch have arrested two alleged activists of Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) in Mumbai.

Police Inspector Avinash Dharmadhikari said on Monday, the accused identified as Irfan Sayyed Ansari and Najeeb Bhakalli were arrested on late Sunday night from Santacruz in the western suburbs and Mahim in North Central Mumbai.

The accused were allegedly involved in SIMI activities. Police believed that the duo was close associate of wanted accused Raheel Ansari. They will be produced in the Esplanade court later in the day, Dharmadhikari added.
