NDTV launches channel in Indonesia

The Indonesia channel will reportedly beam news, current affairs and lifestyle programmes.

Indian broadcaster New Delhi Television Ltd. said on Friday it joined hands with Malaysia's Astro All Asia Networks plc to launch a television channel in Indonesia.

The Astro Awani station would primarily be in Bahasa, Indonesia language and beam news, current affairs and lifestyle programmes, it said in a statement.

Chairman Prannoy Roy said this was New Delhi Television's first channel outside India and the company would "look forward to launching many more channels outside India in the future."
