To make such robotic arm operations here a success, a state-of-the-art operation theatre is being constructed at the hospital that would have a three-door entry. Patients to be operated while passing through these doors would get sterilised.
Giving details about the hi-tech arrangement Dr RP Pathak, CMS of the hospital said, “The wall of the operation theater would be of stainless steel and a pressurized air conditioner would be installed to destroy hazardous micro-organisms.” Talking about the operation Chief Orthopedic Surgeon of the hospital Dr RK Singh said there would be an air fitter exchange system that would filter the air of microorganisms.
The robotic arm would be able to see a three-dimensional picture of the part of human body to be operated upon and it’s navigation devise would be based on electromagnetism. The arm of the robot would have infrared vision, ultra sound coloured Doppler and X-ray vision. “The three dimensional vision of the robotic arm would enable it to perform a error-free operation, though a surgeon would sit before a plasma screen to cross-check the operation performed by the robotic arm,” said Dr RK Singh. Doctors of the hospital said with the installation of the robotic arm in the to-be-constructed OT, complex surgeries would become an easy job in the city.
