The Airport Authority of India said all steps had been taken to ensure "smooth functioning" of airports.
No disruption or delay in flight operations was reported as its employees began an indefinite strike on Wednesday.
"We are ensuring that all services, both air and ground, remain normal and all the facilities for passengers are unaffected. All contingency measures have been taken," AAI spokesperson Premnathinformed in New Delhi.
"No disruption of delay in flight operations have been reported so far. We all are ensuring smooth functioning of the services", he said.
According to him, Air services staff and some sections of the officers of the rank of General Managers and Deputy General Managers on ground duty were not participating in the strike called against handing over the modernisation of Delhi and Mumbai airports to private sector.
As far as security of passengers is concerned, heavy deployment of police officials has been ensured at the airport to prevent any untoward incident, he said.
