Hooda, who was replying to the questions of mediapersons after participating in a panel discussion organised by a Hindi daily here, was asked to comment on the Punjab governments proposal of developing “New Chandigarh” adjacent to Chandigarh, the capital of both Punjab and Haryana and also a Union Territory, an official release said.
Hooda said as Chandigarh had a limited territory and its expansion was necessary and that it would be good if a new city was developed.
He described the Food Security Ordinance 2013 as a step forward in realisation of Mahatma Gandhi's dream that no one should be hungry and all should get shelter and clothes. He said the implementation of this ordinance would benefit 1.30 crore people in the state, the release said.
