Dena Bank Chairman and Managing Director P L Gairola said this while distributing loans worth Rs 25.06 crore to 525 beneficiaries in the Kisan Mela organised by the bank today. Gairola emphasised on the need to increase job opportunities in villages. He presented loan letters to farmers and self-help groups from Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Nagda, Bakhatgarh, Mansaur, Shahpur and other places.

Out of the 525 beneficiaries, around 109 were self-help groups. Sharda Math president Mataji Amita Prana was the chief guest of the programme. She asked the women to empower themselves. NABARD Assistant General Manager A K Dixit and Usha Agarwal also addressed the programme.

Bank Assistant General Manager Dhananjay Kumar gave detailed information about schemes for rural welfare. Gairola also presented keys of tractors to 15 farmers.

The programme began with songs and dance by students of Malwa Central Academy, Dewas. Bank Chief Manager Roshanlal Sharma conducted the programme while Senior Manager R K Sharma proposed the vote of thanks.
