Northern Army commanders discusses security situation with CM

Lieutenant General Sanjiv Chachra, northern army Commander, discussed security situation with chief minister Omar Abdullah in Srinagar. Army commander arrived in Srinagar on Friday and is scheduled to visit forward areas.

Lieutenant General Sanjiv Chachra, northern army Commander, discussed security situation with chief minister Omar Abdullah in Srinagar. Army commander arrived in Srinagar on Friday and is scheduled to visit forward areas.

He was received by Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh, Chinar Corps Commander, and was briefed on the current operational situation along Line of Control and internal security environment prevailing in the
hinterland.

Army Commander lauded the efforts of Chinar Corps in providing environmental security during recently held elections. He also complimented the troops of the corps for their professionalism, and dedication and wished them operational success in future.

During his two days visit, the Army Commander would also visit the LC formations and troops deployed in the forward areas. He is also scheduled to call on governor.
