Despite rumours on the contrary, Slumdog Millionare star Freida Pinto is not the Bond girl, yet. International tabloids reported on Monday that the actress has signed a multi-million pound deal for her role as Daniel Craig’s leading lady in the 23rd James Bond movie, but the actress has denied the news.
Her official spokesperson Divya Tejuja issued the following statement yesterday, “On behalf of Freida Pinto (in capacity of being her official spokesperson), I would like to confirm that as of today, Freida Pinto has not been approached to be part of the next Bond film. It is of course very flattering to even be rumoured to be part of a Bond film but she has certainly NOT been approached for the role of the next Bond girl opposite Daniel Craig as yet. She is currently out of the country working on her next project. Her projects in 2010 - 2011 are Julian Schnabel’s Miral, Woody Allen’s You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger and Tarsem Singh’s Dawn of War.”
However, according to a UK tabloid, the actress is “close to accepting” the role for the film, which will be set in Afghanistan.
