Now women RPF personnel to tackle crime
North Central Railway (NCR) has decided to deploy lady RPF personnel to tackle crimes being committed by women on board the trains as well as at railway stations and yards besides coming to the aid of women passengers in distress.

Senior Divisional Security Commissioner RPF Sunil Kumar Singh informed that the moving squad has been named 'Sarojini' and it will be active in the Allahabad division.
The squad will consist of 20 lady constables who will be well-trained for facilitating lady passengers and checking crime being committed by women.
Besides, they will also assist lady TTEs in their job " Singh said that at present lady RPF personnel are undergoing a 45-day practical training after which they will be pressed into the 'field'.
He also informed that a squad named 'Lakshmi Bai' will be formed for Jhansi division and it will comprise of 12 constables while another group 'Noor Jahan' will be deputed in Agra division and it will consist of 10 lady constables.
Not only this, lady constables are also being trained to protect and safeguard railway property.
Inspector Daya Shankar of Reserve Company Allahabad RPF, who is giving training to the lady constables, said, "They are being trained for duties at store/ workshop gates, maintaining vehicle registers and issuing passes to visitors and performing fixed point duty which includes examining lock and seal of goods and parcel shed and security of VIP,".
He said that they are also being trained for beat duty which includes patrolling inside the yard to safeguard railway property.
Besides, those who have computer knowledge will be made to do the office work, he added.
