As Eid celebrations are in full swing in the city, don’t miss out on visiting the markets around Jama Masjid in Old Delhi, where you can enjoy some scrumptious delicacies, as well as buy food items for your home. One Eid bazaar that you should definitely visit in this area during this time is Matia Mahal, which is located in front of Gate Number 1 of Jama Masjid. Since Eid celebrations are incomplete without seviyan, make sure you buy some from here. Apart from seviyan, one can also buy sweets such as khajla and feni. These can be bought for anything between Rs 70 to Rs 150. Once here, you can also try out the sweet phirni, which is sold in an earthen pot by vendors. It is available from Rs 40 to Rs 60.
The market also has vendors who sell various kinds of dates such as stuffed dates, seedless dates, and even flavoured ones. This area becomes a heaven for foodies during Eid. So, from non-vegetarian delights to mouthwatering sweet dishes, there are a lot of grub you can relish here.
