"Whether it was 'Raishumari' (plebiscite) or autonomy, the NC raised tempers among the people and pitted them in direct confrontation with rest of the country," Mehbooba alleged in a meeting of workers at Palpora in Eidgah constituency here.

She said while the state hurtled from one crisis to another, the NC and its leadership struck deep bonds with everybody in Delhi whether it was Congress, RSS, BJP, Third front or different agencies.

"They convinced Delhi that if anybody could beat Kashmiris into submission, it was the Abdullah family and the NC and for that all tricks were employed," she alleged.

The PDP president said while the NC enjoyed power for personal luxuries, they took the people of the state for granted.

"For a dignified solution to the problem of Jammu and Kashmir, it is necessary that people of Srinagar join the political process launched by PDP," Mehbooba said.
