Pierce Brosnan new face of Aquascutum

The ex- Bond star has been signed up as the new face of the fashion brand.

Former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan has been signed up as the new face of fashion brand Aquascutum.

The one-time 007 is set to appear in a series of print ads alongside German-born beauty Julia Stegner.

"For the autumn/winter 2006-7 campaign Aquascutum is inspired by tradition and ritual, chivalry and glamour, the power of the city of London an the lifestyle of success," Contactmusic quoted an Aquascutum spokesperson as saying.

“Shot by photographer Mario Sorrenti and styled by Andrew Richardson, the campaign explores a sensual and modern phenomenon, The Power Couple', and their lifestyle. Power is a potent aphrodisiac and the campaign plays with this compelling dynamic casting Pierce and Julia as the ultimate power couple," he added.

Earlier this year Aquascutum appointed Kim Winser, the woman credited with helping overhaul Pringle's image, as its chief executive.

Aquascutum has been loss-making for a number of years and it has found it difficult to revamp its brand and shed its old-fashioned image.
