Poland to host Miss World 2006 final
Organisers said that pageant, in its 55th edition, reached an estimated global audience of two billion.
The final of the Miss World 2006 beauty contest will take place in Poland in September, Witold Asminowicz, a spokesman from the Miss Polonia organisation, told the Polish news agency PAP on Wednesday.

The Miss World 2005 contest, held in Sanya, China, was won in December by 21-year-old Reykjavik student Birna Vilhjalmsdottir from Iceland.
Organisers said that pageant, in its 55th edition, reached an estimated global audience of two billion.
Despite competition from the US-based Miss Universe, and attacks from critics in the West who say beauty contests are degrading to women, Miss World remains a hugely popular event worldwide.
