Police get remand of rape accused Shivam Sharma

Shivam Sharma, who is accused of sexually exploiting a Bhopal-based woman and later giving her poisoned juice, was sent to police remand for two days on Friday.

Shivam Sharma, who is accused of sexually exploiting a Bhopal-based woman and later giving her poisoned juice, was sent to police remand for two days on Friday. Sharma was arrested late on Thursday night from near Bhanpur, said police sources.

During the period of remand, the police will quiz him about his relations with the woman. She had alleged that he sexually exploited her promising that he would marry her but later went back on his word. Also, she alleged that after an argument with him, Shamra tried to smother him with a pillow and later gave poisoned juice.

Police sources said that during interrogation, he accepted that he had relation with the woman but dismissed her allegations.

After his arrest, Sharma told a section of media persons that he had been framed and the accusations against him were false. Sharma claimed that he didn’t know about the woman much initially but later he got to know other aspects of her life and hence declined to marry her.
