Beleaguered Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah— grappling with corruption and human rights issues — won Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s pat on Tuesday after a meticulously drafted half-an-hour PowerPoint presentation on the state’s emerging challenges and one-to-one meeting with the premier.

On day-two of his visit, Singh held a meeting with senior government officials to review development issues and assured Centre’s support at Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre in Srinagar. “The Central government will do all to support the state in its development process,” Singh reportedly told Abdullah during the meeting.
