The meteorites will be brought to PRL here this evening where tests will first be conducted to determine the origin of the meteorite, its radioactivity, its age, chemical composition and other features, the scientist said.

Meteorites are small bodies from the outer space that are made of rock or metal.

As they enter the earth's atmosphere from the outer space, they glow as a result of the heat generated due to friction.

Fragments of meteorite that fell last night have been recovered from different villages of Kutch region.

The sight of these planetary objects hurtling down the earth emitting light created considerable excitement among the people of this region.

Pieces of meteorites have been recovered in Kutch even as there are reports of people sighting these objects in Jamnagar and Rajkot district.
