Music maestro AR Rahman on Friday offered special prayers at Ameen Peer Dargah near the district headquarter town of Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh, soonafter returning to India after bagging double Oscars.

Rahman, who returned to Chennai on Feb 26 had barely had rest as he decided to pay his respects at the holy place before embarking on his work. He left Chennai late in the night and reached the dargah in the wee hours on Friday and offered his prayers. There was hardly anyone barring the few trustees at that time, sources said.

The music mastro is a regular visitor to this dargah and offers special prayers before taking up any new project or assignment. A number of film personalities have been visiting the dargah in recent years.(eom)
