The HBTI campus is about one kilometer from the main road. The candidates had to reach the venue on foot as rickshaw-pullers seldom agreed to drop them in the campus due to heavy rains. Besides, they had to wade through waterlogged passage to the HBTI auditorium. T o add to their woes, the auditorium was full and several of them had to wait in the open, as there was no temporary tent-shed to get protection from rains.
Despite heavy rains, counselling began at 9.30 am. Since there was no chance of getting seats in the government engineering colleges, most candidates opted for the private colleges of their choice.
However, CSJM University Institute of Technology has got its 137 seats filled on the fifth day of counselling on Friday. It yet to get students for the remaining 43 seats. Maharana Pratap Engineering College (MEPC) has also succeeded in getting 204 students while 153 seats are still vacant.
