The weatherman said that while the monsoon has covered the entire State now, the conditions are favourable for more rain for next few days.

This Saturday, it measured the highest at 140.7 mm.

He said the Upper Air Cyclonic Circulations are in good conditions over both Weatern and Eastern UP. Bay activities are good and there is considerable moisture content in the monsoon wind. There is more moisture from the Bay of Bengal than from the Arabian sea.

The intense monsoon activities have totally taken away the sultriness that perturbed Lucknowites. The city has been consistently been thickly overcast for last three days and even after conversion into rain, the clouds are not clearing up.

The joy of monsoon is apparent in the mood of the city. Driving and walking in rain is being celebrated. However, integrated with this also is the problems of water-logging on roads and in residential areas. While roads do clear up some minutes or hours after each torrential rain bout, a large number of areas in the city is witnessing waterlogging. In fact waterlogging in residential areas is rising with each downpour. There also is a valid fear among the residents about what lies ahead, as there are full three months of monsoon period ahead.

It is this time of the year that creates problems for vehicles and the motor workshops are now getting overburdened, or should we say having business boom.

Raingears have started selling like hotcakes.
