The autopsy was initially slated to happen at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, but was shifted to AIIMS, keeping in mind the sensitivity of the case.

As it took longer than expected to release his body from Tihar, the post-mortem has been put on hold till Tuesday.

According to the law, in judicial inquests, it is mandatory to form a board of forensic medical experts for a post-mortem.

An official in Delhi government said that the Union home ministry sends a request for the formation of such a board.

For the sake of transparency, the entire procedure is conducted in-camera.
