Congress lambasted the State Government for its failure to take adequate measures to save life and property despite the weather office’s warning of heavy rainfall.

The Chief Minister’s 10-minute aerial survey of the flood-affected areas of Khargone was also criticised. Shivraj Singh Chouhan should have visited the affected areas by road just like State Congress President Subhash Yadav.

The party alleged that besides its failure to provide adequate relief, the State Government had also failed to provide correct figures of those affected by the floods.

Meanwhile, Congress party leaders visited low-lying areas of Nanda Nagar, Juna Risala, Harijan Colony, Adarsh Bijasan Nagar and Sarvahara Nagar today. Water has entered houses here following incessant rainfall.

City Congress President Pramod Tandon said the Mayor and the BJP-led Indore Municipal Corporation have failed to provide adequate relief to the people. He claimed that Congress activists had provided food and other relief material to the poor who had been affected by water-logging in the area.
