Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat will on Friday address a press conference in New Delhi, speaking out for the first time since the expulsion of former union minister Jaswant Singh from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for his book on founder of Pakistan Mohammed Ali Jinnah.

BJP president Rajnath Singh had called on Bhagwat on Thursday night for a one-and-a-half hour meeting.

Bhagwat had on Aug 18 called for an end to factionalism in the BJP, the political wing of the Sangh Parivar, and said the party leadership should make way for younger leaders.

The expulsion of Jaswant Singh, two days after the launch of his Jinnah: India -Partition - Independence, has been criticised by senior leaders Arun Shourie and Yashwant Sinha.
