Standards that are impossibly high, understated décor, food that has to be imported, tastes that have to be acquired, a Japanese hostess who makes up for her lack of knowledge of English with a sweet smile, and prices that can set you back seriously: welcome to one of the finest restaurants in the city, and the only one in its genre. The fish, especially the tuna (but don't go expecting the yellowfin), is flown in from Japan it pays to be in a hotel owned by JAL, the Japanese airline. So go ahead and order the sushi and sashimi there are as good as they can get. If you aren't the adventurous type, stick to a bento box (Rs 1,200 to Rs 1,900 plus taxes), which will have a bit of everything, or go for one of the scaled-down lunch menus priced between Rs 520 to Rs 810 plus taxes. For dinner, go for a kaiseki (Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,300 plus taxes). Of course, among the restaurant's Indian patrons, the tempura are the best-sellers.
