THE OLDEST and biggest seminary of the city Madarsa Jame Uloom is closed but not on account of summer vacations. It is closed due to financial crisis.

The new shoora ( governing council) of the madarsa was constituted after seeking advice from cabinet minister Surendra Mohan Agarwal, Advocate General of the state -SMA Kazmi and chairman of the Sunni Central Waqf Board Hafiz Mohammed Usman . Shaher Quazi Mufti Manzoor Ahmad Mazaheri, told newsmen here on Sunday that madarsa Jame Uloom was closed on account of financial crisis and not due to summer vacations.
Mazaheri said that there was never any ban on SIMI in the State. “ The ban was imposed by the union government,” said Mazaheri. On the allegations of fake documents being submitted to Registrar of Societies for the registration of the new shoora, Mazaheri said, “ All documents are genuine and they can be verified by anyone.”
However, Mazaheri was not able to explain that the annual budget of the madarsa was just Rs 29,896 but his annual salary was Rs 60,000.
