They said the nomination papers of Francis Ngajokpa (Congress) and Thangkha Gin (Revolutionary Socialist Party) were rejected after scrutiny because they had failed to submit necessary papers from their respective parties nominating them as party candidates.
The seven candidates are: NCP nominee Holkhomang Haokip, Manipur People's Party candidate Kim Gangte, Naga Nationalist Party nominee Valley Rose, Nationalise Trinamool Congress candidate Morung Mokunga, BJP candidate Loli Adanee and two independents--Mani Cheranamei and Rosangzuala.
Manipur has two parliamentary seats--Inner Manipur and Outer Manipur. While the first phase of polling would be held in Outer Manipur on April 20, election for the Inner Manipur will be held in second phase on April 26.
