Now, we hear that south director, Shankar, is also in talks with Aamir for Robot.

"Aamir wants a complete change of image. He intends to start shooting for Hirani as soon as he wraps up Ghajini. Shankar's movie could follow," says our source.

It's said that Ghajini's director Murugadoss brought Aamir Khan and Shankar together.

SRK's turn
Now for the twist in the story.. Mani Ratnam has approached Shah Rukh for his next film. After Guru, he was supposed to start work on Lajjo with Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor, but the movie has been shelved.

"During Dil Se, Mani had narrated two scripts to Shah Rukh. One of them was Saathiyaa, in which Shah Rukh made a guest appearance. The other he intends to make now, with SRK in the lead," informs our source.

After Hirani and Shankar's films fell through, Shah Rukh has dates available till August 2008, when he starts shooting for Karan Johar's My Name is Khan.

"He can start Mani's film early next year if things work out," says our source.
