Shiv Sainiks detained for protest

Seven Shiv Sainiks were held for protesting outside Bhel Plaza near Girgoan Chowpatty to disrupt peace, police said today. According to the police, Anil Padwar (35), Ramesh Raut (45) and Jagdish Gandhi (57) and four other Sena activists were detained last night following a protest, they said.

According to the police, Anil Padwar (35), Ramesh Raut (45) and Jagdish Gandhi (57) and four other Sena activists were detained last night following a protest, they said.

Earlier in the day, the activists had blocked the Western Express Highway protesting against hike in electricity charges by Anil Ambani's Reliance Infrastructure.

Also, a violent mob sent ablaze a truck and protested outside the Reliance office at Vakola in suburban Santacruz yesterday.

Nearly 10 Sena activists were detained by Vakola police in connection with this incident.
