Acharya Ghese Navang Samten of Central Higher Tibetan Institute of Buddhist Study said that an ambience of violence was prevailing all around. “People are practicing religion in an extrovert manner and that is why such a type of situation is prevailing across the world,” he said.

“There is a need of introvert practice of religion for the development and well-being of the entire human being,” Samten said, adding, “Every religion contains elements to achieve ultimate goal of life but prior to this people should nurture themselves as a good human being.”

Citing Dalai Lala’s view, Samten said that all the religions should come closer for the well being of humanity.

International President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Ashok Singhal stressed over formation of a Cultural Commonwealth by ensuring a common platform for Buddhist and other religions and communities that originated from Hindu culture.
He alleged that two religions such as Christian and Islam were trying to dominate the entire world.

“Under such scenario, different religions including Buddhism and different communities and religions of Hindu culture should come on a single platform to safeguard the interest of their respective beliefs,’ he said.

Ramkrishna Bagade of Bhakti Sampraday emphasised on the need of true love to spread harmony and peace among people. Dr. Chitrapat Prapandvidya of Shilpkorn University, Bangkok also dwelt on the occasion.

Jagadguru Shankracharya Swami Vasudevananad Sarswati explained the meaning of religion.

Sah Sar Karyawah of RSS, Suresh Soni, Prof Kandegoda Wimaladhamma Thero of Kelaniya University (Sri Lanka) and Chairman of Organizing Committee, Jai Prakash also dwelt on the occasion. Shantilal Somaiyya of Somaiyya Vidya Vihar presided over the inaugural session.

Earlier, Sar Sanghchalak of RSS, KC Sudarshan released a book on ‘Shri Guru Ji Aur Tibet’, written by Dr Kuldeep Chand Agnihotri. Dr Raj Singh welcomed the guests whereas Mohandhar Diwan, General Secretary of World Buddhist Cultural Foundation, proposed the vote of thanks.
