A slight intensity earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale shook the Andaman Nicobar Islands on Wednesday evening.
The tremor occurred at 6.29 pm and its intensity was slight, the Met Department in New Delhi said.
There were no immediate reports of any casualty or damage.
