Surfer's article: Sickening Slang

Slangs are being used in a big way by youngsters these days whether it is an sms or an e-mail, writes Prerna Sethi.

"well, i m v wel here. how bt u?r u ok?"
This is the in language these days which is being used in messages /e-mails etc. But its side effects are very harmful. The people who are using these kind of slang don't to know the harm that they are bringing to the English language.

It is rather a pity that such language is considered to be a part of style by the youngsters.It is idiotic kind of language with no physical existence found anywhere in the world.

It spoils the speaking & writing skills of the students. They speak informally with everyone. For instance-"gd bls u" which actually means -"GOD BLESS YOU" is very informal way of using the language.

It is a complete disregard to the language. By using such language, people are abusing the "ENGLISH" language as such. Not only the words (as mentioned above) but also all the other words existing in this language are squeezed to their largest extent.

Thus, it is a modest request that the children should improve their language instead of disregarding it.
