Suspected IM terrorist arrested

Mohammad Arif, allegedly involved in Ahmedabad and Lucknow bomb blasts, was arrested today by the Anti-Terrorist Squad of the Uttar Pradesh Police.

A suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorist, allegedly involved in Ahmedabad and Lucknow bomb blasts, was arrested on Monday by the Anti-Terrorist Squad of the Uttar Pradesh Police.

He was identified as Mohammad Arif who is a native of Sanjarpur village in Azamgarh district, state DGP Vikram Singh told reporters here.

Arif was arrested from Charbagh area in the state capital, he said.

During his interrogation, Arif alias Abdul had admitted his involvement in Lucknow and Ahmedabad serial blasts, the DGP said.

Arif's name cropped up during interrogation of Abu Bashar and Saif, both suspected terrorists of the Indian Mujahideen, he said.

Bashar was arrested last month and Saif on September 19.
