"As a special case to avoid hardship to the employees, a special advance to the extent of salary loss suffered on account of employees participation in the strike subject to a maximum of one month's salary will be granted. This shall be sanctioned on the basis of the eligible salary of August 2011," an order issued by principal secretary (Finance) V Bhaskar said.

The advance shall be recovered from the employees subsequently, it said.

"The advance shall be admissible to government employees, employees of local bodies and aided institutions who went on strike from September 13 or later and who re-joined duty on October 25," Bhaskar said.
