Noida Police on Tuesday claimed to have cracked a gang of 'cabby-robbers', allegedly involved in at least 150 cases of loot and snatching in the past six months, with arrest of ten people.
Police call this gang 'cabby-robbers' as they allegedly used to offer people lift and then rob them of their valuables.
The gang used to operate at Delhi and other parts of the National Capital Region.
The arrests came a day after at least half a dozen snatching cases were reported from this satellite town.
The kingpin of the gang, Dharmendra alias Bhura was among the ten arrested, police said, adding that there were altogether 13 members.
All the arrested, including six cab drivers, are residents of Loharli village of Gautam Budh Nagar district and have been held from area under Sector 39 police station.
Three Indica cab cars, 27 mobile phones, 4 knives, a laptop, two chains and five watches were recovered from their possession, police said.
A manhunt has been launched to nab the other members.
