Sachin Tendulkar has said that he is completely fit and was looking forward to play in the Test series against West Indies starting on June 2.
"I am fit now. I am looking forward to the West Indies tour," Tendulkar said in an informal chat with reporters at Subramanya, 70 kilometres away.
The batsman was on a two-day visit to perform religious rituals at various temples.
Asked about the burn-out issue, the 33-year-old said "every player needs rest to re-energise himself."
To another question, he said that performance and not the age should be the criteria for selection.
The Mumbai batsman, who underwent a surgery on his shoulder in March, has already been ruled out of the ODI series against West Indies, which is slated to begin on May 18.
Meanwhile, BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah said that the decision on Tendulkar's availability for the Test series against West Indies would be known only after physio John Gloster submits his report.
Gloster is expected to examine Tendulkar next week and based on his report, the BCCI would take a decision on the master batsman.
