The declaration of the dates for the Board exams is drawing different reactions from different quarters. While Class X students are happy with the 11-day break between the Math paper on March 9 and the Science and Technology paper on March 20, Class XII students, who have their history exam on March 3, are worried.

They get just a day’s gap between English and History exam. In fact, an NGO has even sent notices to the CBSE and Union HRD Ministry over what its says is an “unjust move”. “The Class XII History syllabus is cumbersome.

Giving the candidates only a margin of 24 hours for revision is unfair,” said Feroz Bakht Ahmed of the NGO, Friends for Education. Ahmed also teaches at Modern School. CBSE exams controller, Pavnesh Kumar, however, refused to comment on the issue.
