Shabnam, Shazia and Irfan-- aged between seven and eight years-- were seriously injured when a grenade, hurled by unidentified terrorists towards a security picket, exploded on the roadside at Bumai in Sopore, the sources said.

All the three teenagers were brought to Srinagar's SMHS hospital and the doctors attending on them have described their condition as serious, the sources said.

The terrorists involved in the grenade attack fled the scene taking advantage of panic, which followed the blast, the sources said adding a hunt has been launched to nab them.

No terrorist outfit has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.
