Taking a strong cognisance of the accident, the railway administration has placed the driver and assistant driver of Chauri-Chaura Express under suspension. Besides, mechanical engineer and loco inspector have also been suspended.
However, the Railway officials claimed that nobody sustained injury in the mishap.
Sources said train number 4308 was moving from Prayag station towards Allahabad Junction when train number 5004, coming from Rambagh station, also moved without getting the green signal, resulting into side collision.
Due to the accident, Chauri-Chaura Express was terminated in the Allahabad-Kanpur section while Bareily-Mugalsarai Passenger was terminated in the Allahabad-Mughalsarai section.
However, during the return journey, both the trains were to move from Allahabad in the evening.
