How was it working in a Bollywood project?

When director Rohan Sippy approached us for Bluffmaster, we practically fell off our chairs. We had done some work in Hyderabad Blues II, but this was our first mainstream offer. We gave the complete Trickbaby treatment to Bluffmaster’s music. I Do you think Bollywood music is changing?

Bollywood music has always been a bit of khichri. Moviemakers have a knack of swaying to the latest trend. It’s a reflection of audience tastes. Trickbaby’s music is all about conjuring moods, so our association with movies was natural.

Did you have to adapt your sounds to fit the Bollywood bill?

Not really. Rohan commissioned us because he liked Trickbaby sounds. We’re no good at modifying our music to suit a film genre. We’re a bit pigheaded that way.

Any Indian musician you dream of working with?

AR Rehman and Trickbaby would be an ideal, explosive combination.
