"Chief Minister Rosaiah does not care about the demand for cancellation of Group-I exam. Chandrababu Naidu does not open his mouth. They don't care for Telangana," TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao said at Vikarabad in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district.
Claiming that Telangana was always discriminated against in the recruitment of officers by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), Telangana students and political leaders cutting across party lines demanded that the exam be postponed.
However, the government went ahead with the exam on September 5. The students and other Telangana supporters clashed with police at the Osmania University here during a protest against the conduct of the test. The Telangana leaders from all parties demanded that the exam be cancelled.
Rao also said seven new districts would be created in Telangana after the formation of separate state. "The first Government Order (GO) that will be issued after formation of separate Telangana would be creating seven new districts. Vikarabad would be the first in the list of new districts."
Telangana currently comprises 10 districts.
