The 16-year old Tushar Liberhan, who had upset the tenth seeded Woong-Sun Jun of Korea in the second round, went down 3-6 3-6 to eighth seed Mihail Zverev of Germany.

On the other hand, Karan and Chinese Taipei's Chu-Huan Yi were gallant in their 6-7 (2/7) 7-6 (8/6) 7-5 loss to Phillip Simmonds of the US and South African Fritz Wolmarans.

The Indo-Taipei duo had earlier beaten Lukas Lacko of Slovakia and Venezuelan David Navarrete 6-7 (4/7) 6-4 6-1 on a truncated day on Tuesday.

Tushar, however, made progress in the doubles with compatriot Divij Sharan.

Tushar and Divij advanced to the second round where they were playing the Korean pair of Woong-Sun Jun and Sun-Yong Jr. Kim after their first round opponents Viktor Troicki of Serbia and Vilin Visak of Venezuela gave a walk over at the resumption of the third set this morning.

The tie was suspended at the end of second set after the Indians had levelled the scores 1-6 6-3 owing to fading light on Tuesday.
