Two held for selling fake CPMT papers

The STF got a tiff-off that a few miscreants, involved in selling CPMT question papers are staying in a lodge. The STF team reached there on May 21 and took a room on rent in the same lodge.
According to reports, the members of the STF team were minutely observing the movements of the gang. They carried out a raid in the wee hours of May 22 and arrested a veterinary doctor, resident of Nalanda district of Bihar in connection with the selling of CPMT papers.
Sources said that the police recovered one dozen fake admit cards and CPMT papers. He was about to sell these papers to some students. However, the two other accomplices of the doctor managed to flee from the scene.
However, the police heaved a sigh of relief when the fake question paper did not match with the original ones.
According to reports, the accused confessed to his involvement in leakage of CPMT papers. He said that was associated with other members of the gang, who were arrested in Lucknow and Allahabad in connection with selling the fake question papers.
On Sunday, the police had arrested a gang of five persons selling question papers of the CPMT and recovered cash and documents from their possession, along with the question papers. However, following cross checking of the question papers, it was revealed that none of the questions tallied with the ones asked in the test. Despite all this the racketeers managed to collect cash from several aspirants.
Police also recovered a cheque worth Rs six lakh from their possession. Efforts were being made to find out the person who issued the cheque. An SOG police team working under DIG range Akhilesh Mehrotra busted this racket following the arrest of Daya Shankar Singh, Anil Yadav and Anurag Raman Rai (all residents of Ghazipur), Sitesh Kumar Jaiswal of Bihar and Santosh of Chunar. Acting on a tip off, the SOG team pounced on the gang at Chilla crossing in Govindpur locality around 3 am.
