New Zealand coach John Bracewell has named an unchanged team for the second Test against the West Indies starting in Wellington on Friday.

Bracewell has kept faith in openers Hamish Marshall and Jamie How and No 3 Peter Fulton, who showed only moderate form in the first Test in Auckland which New Zealand won by 27 runs.

"Losing the toss, the anxiety of Test match cricket, the desire to want to do well. I think some batsmen would have fallen into all of those categories and some would fallen into just one or two of them," Bracewell said on Tuesday.

"I think we were a bit rusty, not having played Test cricket for seven months and 22 one-dayers. Hopefully we've shaken that out of our system and we're back to the business of winning session by session."

Bracewell said Shane Bond, James Franklin and Chris Martin all have slight injuries and backups may have to be called.

Bond has a knee injury, Franklin a side strain and Martin a sore back.

Team: Stephen Fleming (captain), Hamish Marshall, Jamie How, Peter Fulton, Nathan Astle, Scott Styris, Brendan McCullum, Daniel Vettori, James Franklin, Shane Bond, Chris Martin, Jeetan Patel.
