Unidentified militant killed in encounter in Imphal
An unidentified militant was shot dead in an encounter with security personnel in interior Thoubal district of Manipur, police sources said on Monday.

An unidentified militant was shot dead in an encounter with security personnel in interior Thoubal district of Manipur, police sources said on Monday.
A team of police commandos and personnel of 34th Assam Rifles battalion was combing Yairipok Pechi area on Sunday evening following reports of movement of some ultras.
As the security men were fired upon, the personnel retaliated and in the ensuing encounter, one unidentified militant was gunned down.
One AK 47 rifle with five rounds of ammunition was recovered from the spot.
Over 460 persons have so far been killed in militancy-related incidents in Manipur this year.
