Unlucky in love

I am in love with this guy who seemed interested enough in me at the beginning but later backed out and said that he did not want to make a commitment to me.
Is it my karma that I am unlucky in love? Will I have him back in my life forever? Is my selfless love lacking something? Please advise.

Veena Minocha answers: I would like to explain something about love relationships, as this sort of thing is happening regularly, and I am sure many others would also like to understand the finer basis of these short-lived relationships.
This is the last human lifetime of most humans on this Earth. As such, since there is a lot of karma clearing to be done with various others, in their love lives, several interesting things appear to happen. Every love relationship, which would, in the normal course have taken a lifetime of processing, through all the range of emotions, has now to be compressed into a short span of time, so that the rest of the karmic clearing with other prospective partners could also happen within this lifetime.
So it happens, that humans are drifting from one relationship to another, in the shortest span of time, so as to be able to fit in all their karmic commitments, and be free of them. The net outcome is, that all the human emotions have to be experienced very intensely, and briefly, to gain the wisdom through them.
This would account for humans changing partners so often. Most of them realize that the change was not of their own making, but was influenced by factors outside their control.
My sincere advice to you is to take up some form of therapy, like meditation, concentrating on a higher form of love, through devotion. You would then be able to understand that human love is but a poor mirror image of that great Infinite Love that is waiting for us to come into its fold. When we come into the Great Light, a lot of our human attitudes change, as a new awareness of the why's and how's of our experiences become explicitly clear. Awareness brings about with it a change of consciousness, and you will have learnt how to deal with the next partner in a different way.
I do know that human partnerships are important in our scheme of things on Earth, but all you can do now is to wait, and then magnetize to yourself the true love of your life through the Co-creation process.
However, there is one more thing that is very essential, and that is to forgive, from deep within your heart, the person who has caused you so much pain, and treat the episode as karma cancelled and cleared. Without a total forgiveness, a complete rebalancing of our emotional bodies, it becomes impossible to move forward, and we get stuck in the rut. Only then will you be able to step forward into a new partnership, which would endure.
